Career Workshop 4: PhD or not to PhD
Do you want to know the ins and outs of doing a PhD? Then the PhD panel “To PhD or not to PhD” is just the thing for you. There will be 4 panel members who either finished their PhD or are still PhD candidates from both Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. They will tell you in short about their PhD research and discuss statements about being a PhD candidate.
The timetable is as follows:
18:00-18:15 Introduction by panel leader with a general talk about doing a PhD.
18:15-18:40 Panelists give their own presentation of max 5 min about what they have done in their PhD.
18:40-19:05 Break with food from Domino’s.
19:05-19:40 Discussion with prepared statements.
19:40-20:00 Discussion with questions from the audience.
20:00-20:15 Closing
